MANY BONEY ADVENTURES About two weeks ago Mrs. Sinagra's science the fourth classes disected owl pellets. They did this with tools and their hands. The owl pellets were made up of fur, feathers, and bones. These remains are things the owl can't digest most of the kids found mouse and vole bones. They tried to put the bones together to form a skeleton. They put the skeletons in a bag and they made a poster. They glued the bags to a bulletin board outside the class. Next they labled the skeletons. You can find out what they look like in the fourth and fifth grade halls. You would like them a lot.

FOSSILS OR BONES ANYONE? Coming up in May, the 2nd grade classes of Mrs. Werner and Mrs. Ormond are going on an exciting field trip. They are going to the, Exhibit museum of Natural History in Ann Arbor, Michigan. There, the 2nd grade classes will be exploring interesting facts. They have chosen a special tour where they will see fossils, extinct dinosaur bones, some facts on wildlife in Michigan, and Native American Culture, just to name a few. This works perfectly with the science lesson they are studying on fossils and bones. That`s why they picked this location. The transportation they will be using is one large bus. The cost is $5.00 per person. I hope you have fun 2nd graders! THE ANIMALS SHALL BE HAPPY Annoucements have been spread that say parts of the Borneo Rainforest has been saved. We want to give a big thanks to Mrs. Chapman and her class! The Rainforest Funraiser started April 12 and ended just before, spring break. Mrs. Chapman's class had a bake sale at the talent show. Trust me, the food looked good! They made wonderful posters to remind people to donate money. They called businesses to see if they would donate money. Mrs. Chapman wrote letters and sent them out to parents to remind them to donate money. Also they did annoucements over the P.A. Mrs. Chapman's class also made, Hat Day. All you had to do was pay a dollar to be able to wear something crazy. This got alot of donations. All of these efforts bought 12 acres of the Borneo Rainforest! This all went with the students social studies lessons. Once again, thank you Mrs. Chapman and your class! |
