The Division of Food Services is proud to offer a variety of delicious, yet healthy, breakfast and lunch choices for the students of the Wayne-Westland Community School District. The lunch program is run with a "point of sale" swipe card system, which reduces the wait time in line, and gives the students more time to enjoy their meals.
Congratulations to members of the Zebra Marching Band for a great performance last Saturday at the DeWitt HS Competition and for being awarded 2nd Place in Class A and 3rd out of 13 total bands!
Please take a moment and vote for the Zebra Marching Band in WDIV's Best Marching Band Contest! The band is in the Top Ten. Let's get them to #1
Every year the Grange, a Non-Profit Organization founded by farmers to improve agriculture, legislation, and community, donates hundreds of dictionaries to local schools. The Dictionary Program or "Words for Thirds" is a huge project that many Granges do!
This year we had a record amount of dictionaries our Grange ordered and delivered, which essentially means the number of children in need of dictionaries and the amount of which we can help is increasing.
In total, we delivered 1,200 dictionaries this year! Yet the amazing part is the impact the gift of a dictionary has on these children. And we are always happy to give these children that, the gift of knowledge!
The Wayne Memorial vs. John Glenn football game this Friday, October 12th, was our first Military Appreciation game. We would like to thank our veterans for all they have done. Thank you!
The Edison Eagle Fun Run is the primary fundraiser of the year for Edison. Students collected pledges from friends and family and then participated in a 1/2 run around the Edison track. Students earned a bracelet for each lap run and a medal for finishing the run in addition to any prizes won through the collection of donations. Proceeds from the Fun Run are used by the Edison PTO to pay for class trips, materials, books, and activities throughout the year at Edison.
We picked up a donation for the FRC from Burning Bush International Ministries. Here is a photo of the donation of socks, underwear, sweatpants, and toiletries. Thank you!
