Summer fun is already happening here. Roosevelt-McGrath students attended an assembly stressing the importance of reading (and doing Math) over the summer. Mrs. Voigt, from the Wayne Public Library was here to share all the fun things that are happening at the library this summer. There was a book raffle and every student received a bag of books to read over the summer. At Roosevelt-McGrath we vote for the cha cha slide, not the summer slide! Happy reading this summer to all!

Lots of fun and games. We made the best of the weather and teamed up together to make some very fond memories.
Roosevelt McGrath has a "Student Lighthouse Team" that changes from year to year.
The students are nominated by their teachers as representing the very best of our school. Yesterday was the official "passing of the torch" from this year's team to next year's team. Their goal is to work together to make Roosevelt McGrath a better place. They meet twice monthly throughout the school year.
Reading Month ended with an assembly focusing on the joy of reading all year long. The Student Lighthouse Team helped plan and implement the assembly. Miss Bosh's fourth-grade class shared a Reader's Theater and there was even a Joke Contest. Wayne Councilmen, John Rhaesa, and Jeremiah Webster read to our students. Karen Williams (aka Teddy the Tooth) from Smile Program Mobile Dentists closed the assembly with a skit about reading, even in the summer. All the students and staff agreed that "Reading is a Blast"!
